Detox Reference Track "It’s Like That" Leaked.
“Shut the fuck up. Detox?” That was my reaction when I read that a track off the long-delayed, mythical Detox album had been leaked. More accurately, it’s a reference track, so it doesn’t even have Dr. Dre’s vocals on it yet. Rather, the vocals are from an artist named Prophet and it’s co-produced by an Atlanta producer named WallStreet. This is the first (or maybe second) actual material we’ve gotten off Detox so far and I can’t help but suspect it’s a hoax. Nevertheless here’s the link, courtesy of 2dopeboyz (the text of the email from the insider who leaked it is there too). Right now, all I can confidently say is, look out for Detox.

[…] While the song starts off much as you’d expect, with a sung hook that works in typical whimsical Em style, the first and third verses are delivered in a much lower, simplified, Dre-esque flow, including lines that are clearly from Dre’s perspective, prompting rumors that the song is actually an unfinished reference track recorded for Dre, so that he will know how to spit the verses Em wrote for him. This is not the first time a reference track of Dre’s has leaked. In May, a track allegedly planned for release on Dre’s ‘Detox’ leaked, with reference vocals laid out by a rapper named Prophet, entitled ‘It’s Like That.’ You can check that out here. […]
