Lupe Fiasco is a Fool…

But we love it.

I woke up this morning and got this in my inbox:

When you’re one of the greatest emcees of the modern generation readying your bow from hip-hop with three albums, what do you do meanwhile? In Lupe Fiasco’s case, you simply watch a film, get invigorated, start a band, begin making not so bad post-indie punk music in a faux British accent, think of a peculiar band name (cue “Japanese Cartoon”), create a MySpace page, & upload the music. Then act like it isn’t you but rather Percival Fats. Cool.

There are only two tracks so far, and I’m not sure whether I love it or hate it. Its like punk rock, but the lyrics are clearly Lupe. The British accent is pretty annoying, but you would have to know me to find out why.

Either way you should listen to it, and reflect in the comments. Maybe I’ll take your opinion because I can’t find my own.

Cause I’m a tool.

Me and Sean The Robot deciphered some of the riddles a few hours ago, but since then, Lupe’s Twitter has been deleted along with the songs on the profile. The songs + myspace page are in the link below and it turns out the page was hacked.

I was born in the UK and i’d have to agree, Lupe’s fake accent is the worst part about this whole thing.

It sucks that the page was hacked because they had more music posted on the myspace page than they do now. Hate on the accent if you like. I choose to not have an opinion about it, as I did with Kanye and that “808’s and Dogshit” album, lol. I think we can all agree that both Lu and Ye sound better when they are str8 up rapping. Nice blog, it’s up on my toolbar now so i’ll be adding it as a stop along my daily blog walk, lol
