Sphere: Related ContentThe high priced Jay-Z concert at DC’s Warner Theater is starting to seem that it was worth the price of admission:
Edit: NR has the studio version of Jay-Z’s verse in Mp3.
Jeezy performs Put On as well at the end.
But I have to ask, where is Nas.. he was in town on Sunday?
In case you haven’t seen it, Jeezy & Hov premiered the track on Friday at Club Love.

I almost fell out of bed when I saw this on sportscenter last night. It was that awesome. Jeff Xavier’s Brother on the court> male streaker. I love the announcers reaction when they though it was just some random guy, and not a players’ brother.
Fanhouse has the thorough coverage and details.

Sphere: Related ContentA surreal performance setting combined with clever narrative elements will define Man Woman Boogie with fluid camera movement and cinematic proportions. The uptempo jazzy beat inspired me to think about classic films that feature relationships between men and women on trains. Off the top of my head, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Darjeeling Limited featured some great scenes between a man and woman combined with the immediacy and urgency of a moving train about to reach its destination. Upon destination the man and woman would go their separate ways and reconcile later on. The moving train to me is a great metaphor for the ups and downs, ins and outs and the rush felt between the forces of man and woman.

Now Fela Kuti is getting a biopic.
The progenitor of Afrobeat and a political radical, Fela Kuti is more deserving of a biopic than most. In the 70s, he fought the military government of Nigeria, who raided his house in ’77, put him in jail with a fractured skull, and threw his mother out of a second-story window. He died of AIDS in 1997. Focus Features is basing the movie on the book Fela: The Life and Times of an African Musical Icon by Michael Veal.
Peep “Coffin for Head of State.” When he got out of jail, Fela and his people marched to the government headquarters and left a coffin there.
There’s also a biopic about Miles Davis starring Don Cheadle in the making as well as two about Marvin Gaye. Let’s all try to forget about Notorious, which I’m avoiding like the plague.

Sphere: Related ContentAlways been a fan of MTV’s documentary style shows from True Life to Diary (they need to bring it back). The most recent one, Britney Spears: For The Record was a very interesting perspective on the life she can’t seem to escape. Based on the teaser trailer, this TI series looks like another winner. Premieres Tuesday February 10 at 9pm EST.
