My homie the Audible Doctor just blessed me with this remix to last year’s “Undeniable.” I have to say I prefer this version for the ghostly vocal sample that loops throughout. It’s much more memorable than the original. Major props to the Audible Doctor!

Can Marco get a Wheatgrass sponsorship already?!? C’mon internets.

When I heard this on the Fresh Selects podcast, I sent Magestik a hysterical text demanding he send it to me. The three Detroit rappers link up with French producer Dela for some madness. My Fat Beats connects inform me that Magestik has a whole mess of music coming soon. His mixtape from last year is worth checking out as well.
Props to yU of Diamond District for offering this dope album for free. yU drops abstract rhymes over some ambient, mellow production. Very chill album. The majority of the production is by yU and Slimkat78 who comprise the 1978ers. Peep the tracklisting:

Okay, I’m a day late, but still. This freestyle is nuts.
Related: An awesome vintage freestyle and interview from Red around the time of Dare Iz A Darkside (via rap, lies and videotape)

Black Milk pulls something new out of his bag of tricks and Elzhi barely stops to breathe. Detroit dopeness as usual.
In related news, Hex Murda basically promised me that he would get Guilty Simpson and Torae to do “Miami ’09” for my birthday.

Off The Paxtons’ upcoming project Work, “Smoke” is the best 420 anthem I’ve heard all day (yes, it’s 4 in the morning, but I’m still calling it Monday). I love the lazy synths, but the hook is a little too ignorant for 2009. And if you are the type to get weeded now and then, make sure you don’t do anything reckless, like listening to Asher Roth.

I was disappointed by the DJ Khalil/Clipse/Kanye collabo that finally dropped today, but Khalil made up for it with this banger off Defari’s upcoming album Work Hard, Play Harder. Defari rhymes over a grandiose beat that’s worthy of Dr. Dre. The well-placed piano and the clean bassline make for a royal-sounding track that begs to be played loud.
