U.K. emcee Mystro interviews Devin the Dude, who demonstrates his impressive rolling skills. Just Tryin’ Ta Live is also easily one of the best albums of this decade and is criminally overlooked – it’s a good place to start if you’re not familiar with his music. The first part is below, part two after the jump.

Just when I had all but lost interest in Joell Ortiz, he drops this amazing mixtape and reestablishes himself as one of the most talented rappers around. Covers The Classics has Joell rhyming insane over hip-hop standards like “Rappers Delight,” “Verbal Intercourse” and “Ebonics.” Joell stays true to the mixtape format with tracks rarely exceeding 2 minutes. Everything from the cover art to the DJ drops on this tape is well placed. No one is allowed to rhyme over these beats for the next five years.

I met Von Pea, Illyas and Donwill yesterday at Fat Beats and I can safely conclude that Tanya Morgan are the coolest guys in rap. And I’m not just saying that because they’re avid Metal Lungies readers (which they are). Right here is perhaps my favorite song off Brooklynati, the Aeon-produced “She’s Gone.”

And the Tanya Morgan love doesn’t stop there. Here’s a video of their performance at Fat Beats yesterday courtesy of my homie DJ Sav One.

This rendition of the now classic SNL short is notable for a few reasons, Black Thought fills in for T-Pain, and The Roots are decked out (no pun, I swear) in nautical gear, and lastly the OD censor beeps are sick.

This, boys and girls, is how babies are made. Listen to Jelly Roll on the hook — doesn’t that sound a million times better than Auto-Tune?

The “Love Thirst” remix is another great Busta Rhymes sex anthem. I’m gonna go wash my hands.
Sphere: Related ContentJadakiss was so taken by Nore’s gesture that he set aside 45 minutes to figure out how to buy CNN’s latest album Channel 10 on iTunes. Jada doesn’t put on as much of a show as Nore, nor does he have as much difficulty, but he still hits a few snags along the way. At 3:10, there’s a great shot of a confused ‘Kiss scratching his head. ‘Kiss finally makes the purchase at 3:55 and makes a noise that I’ve never heard from him before. I hope this becomes an ongoing series and I hope Jada and Nore enjoyed each other’s albums more than I did.

Very profane rhymes for such a sunny sounding beat. Game recounts his wonder years on this track off the Made in America mixtape: getting his ass whooped for taking a Duck Hunt gun outside, his first sexual experience and of course getting his first kilo. Game’s excellent flow shows no signs of deteriorating and despite all that retirement talk, it sounds like he’s working on his fourth album right now, if a shady tweet that might have come from Game is to be believed.

I was bumping this a lot when an early version, which I’ve included, leaked back in January. Busta Rhymes and company sign a heartfelt song about being there for your friends and Mr. Porter provides an appropriately clean and classy beat. Am I the only one who thinks the inclusion of both Jamie Foxx and John Legend is redundant?
