MP3 here.  The Pre-Game EP drops in December.

People Under the Stairs – Hit The Top.

Apparently People Under the Stairs have a new album. It sounds like this project was pretty spontaneous. I’m not complaining.

“Hit The Top” is vintage funky PUTS, complete with their unequaled flow.

Carried Away drops October 13.

As a bonus, here’s one of my favorite tracks from their last album, the sorely slept on Fun DMC.

Royce Da 5’9” – Dinner Time (ft. Busta Rhymes) (produced by Q Tones).

When Royce and Busta get together they verbally smash shit.

I’ve been listening to “New Money” five times a day since it leaked. I have a feeling Street Hop is what the game’s been missing.

Curren$y – I’m Just Dope.

“I’m Just Dope” finds Spitta darker than usual, but not without his casual stoner demeanor. Off his new album Jet Files which popped up out of nowhere.

Crooked I – Guess Who’s Back (ft.Snoop Dogg).

New music from the Slaughterhouse member, with an Inspired use of a classic Snoop line for the hook. Crazy beat provided by Scram Jones, who’s been killing shit lately. From Crooked’s upcoming EP Mr. Big Face Weapon Waist. I’m glad to see rappers returning to the EP model that everyone from the Beatnuts to Pete & CL debuted with. Plus that title is fantastic.

Tanya Morgan (and Black Sheep) Live on 10/7 & 10/8 in Baltimore & Washington D.C.

In case you missed the trio the last time they were in the area (like me), around the release of Brooklynati, here is your chance to catch them. This time around they will be joined by the classic group Black Sheep. Wenesday they are at The Quarter in Baltimore & Thursday at LIV in DC.

Here is the blurb my dude Alex sent:

The fast-rising rap trio, Tanya Morgan, has teamed up with hip-hop pioneers, Black Sheep, for a pair of shows in the DMV(Oct. 7 in Baltimore and Oct. 8th in DC) to promote their sophomore album, Brooklynati.Already being called one of the best albums of 2009, Brooklynati, an ode to hip-hop’s heydayin the form of a utopian city, has garnered high praise from the likes of Billboard, Spin,XXL Magazine and Okayplayer.com for its classic blend of golden-era beats and thoughtful flows, which has oftenbeen likened to the 1990’s rap crew, Native Tongues, of which Black Sheep was a part. Now, joining forces with official Native Tongue family member Black Sheep, whose iconic hits “TheChoice is Yours (This or That)” and “Similak Child” are timeless symbols of hip-hop’s golden-era,Tanya Morgan continues to push the genre forward while bridging the gap between 2 decades of hip-hop.

Yelawolf – I Wish (ft. Raekwon) x F.U.

I only peeped this because of Raekwon but damn, Yelawolf is a beast. The Alabama MC has an intense delivery and incorporates a lot of rock without succumbing to cheesy rap-rock syndrome.

Killer Mike called him “a hybrid of the Dungeon Family and Lynyrd Skynyrd.”

broken cool suggests he’s signed to a major. Expect to see a lot more of him soon.

Midnight Specialists – The Ills.

East Coast trio The Midnight Specialists provide three verses of paranoid street rap over three different beats. It’s very trippy and it requires multiple listens. I rarely get anything this good from a random blast. Might have to kinda sorta check this album out when it drops.
