Jadakiss was so taken by Nore’s gesture that he set aside 45 minutes to figure out how to buy CNN’s latest album Channel 10 on iTunes. Jada doesn’t put on as much of a show as Nore, nor does he have as much difficulty, but he still hits a few snags along the way. At 3:10, there’s a great shot of a confused ‘Kiss scratching his head. ‘Kiss finally makes the purchase at 3:55 and makes a noise that I’ve never heard from him before. I hope this becomes an ongoing series and I hope Jada and Nore enjoyed each other’s albums more than I did.
Very profane rhymes for such a sunny sounding beat. Game recounts his wonder years on this track off the Made in America mixtape: getting his ass whooped for taking a Duck Hunt gun outside, his first sexual experience and of course getting his first kilo. Game’s excellent flow shows no signs of deteriorating and despite all that retirement talk, it sounds like he’s working on his fourth album right now, if a shady tweet that might have come from Game is to be believed.
I was bumping this a lot when an early version, which I’ve included, leaked back in January. Busta Rhymes and company sign a heartfelt song about being there for your friends and Mr. Porter provides an appropriately clean and classy beat. Am I the only one who thinks the inclusion of both Jamie Foxx and John Legend is redundant?

GW Radio’s Funkadelic Freestyles airs it semester finale tonight at 9pm, which you can stream at gwradio.com. If you aren’t farmilar with the show, it’s pretty much has become the go-to radio show of anything dope going on in DC area’s underground hip hop scene. One of the hosts happens to be the always hilarious Jay Promo, who was in the building alongside Wale & ML for that infamous Capitals game. ML is scheduled to bum-rush the broadcast, so tune in.
Jamie Radford is an Atlanta-based rapper and producer. He reached out to me about his new album, released under the pseudonym Dino & Bride (awesome album cover pictured above). It’s an excellent electronica-influenced hip hop album composed mostly of instrumentals, with two vocal features which you can check out below. I hear a lot of Prefuse 73 and Dabrye in his music – Jamie’s instrumentals are spacey and crispy, with thin, stiff drums and airy synthesizers. Makes for great late night listening. Jamie gifted me with a few free tracks to share off the album. You can stream Dino & Bride in its entirety here and cop his other releases at his last.fm page.
Quietly, Malice (aka 1/2 of the ML Hollers @ Subjects, The Clipse) has stepped up his web presence by launching a series of vlogs, that are must see for any fans of The Clipse. In Vlog #1 you learn that Malice is a culinary mastermind, uses the word ‘foolishness’ (which I have been using A LOT) lately, has a stock BMW, plays golf… AND has a book called Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind, and Naked coming out. *phew*
In Vlog #2, is some sort of cryptic short movie scored to Clipse tracks, interesting to watch.
Juelz Santana’s video for “Santana’s Town” is a classic. It managed to be visually impressive, funny and cool at the same time. I haven’t seen a truly memorable music video since the dawn of viral videos. With that said, this amateur parody of “Santana’s Town” is hilarious. And someone in Cam’ron’s camp must have liked it enough to post it on the Dipset YouTube channel. Metal Lungies has already offered the makers, Team Rim Breakers, a ten million dollar contract.
ML has been criminally sleeping on posting some Mike Posner stuff.. dude looks like a pop star in the making. I mean dude just put out a mixtape, A Matter of Time a few months ago, and now he has a packed crowd singing along to his songs, pretty impressive, no?
