Here’s mud in ya eye right smack in the middle of the Kanye/50 week.
Have you found yourself wondering what happened to some old school rap crews like Nas did on HHID? Well wonder no more!! Here is my vote for wildly underrated rap duo that introduced a lot to the game but never gets mentioned in the top rap group conversation. That’s right folks Das EFX. What happened to these guys? I don’t know but I’m going to find out, dammit! Maybe it was the Hit Squad split, maybe PMD jacked them for their paper? Who knows? Maybe Common referencing them on “I Used to Love H.E.R.” was the first non-response ethering of it’s time? Here’s one of their cuts Microphone Checka from back in the day. All joking aside, these cats were serious and need to be recognized for the true school pioneers they are. Word up.
Sphere: Related ContentShit, you might as well call this bitch Kanye West week, sorry Curtis. 2 Part interview then Performance of Stronger.
Near the end, dude goes kinda crazy (while A-Trak was killing at always). Did anyone see Jeff Garlin mocking Kanye during his interview after Yeezy (Garlin came out in sunglasses in a scarf, and tried to talk like Kanye, will Yeezy start the first cross-entertainment medium beef?!? ) ?

Hey what do you know a new artist they are trying to break with out a one trick pony gimmick. Produced by The Runners.
Q Da Kid Ft. Jermaine Durpi & B.G.-Bottom 2 Da Top.
Sphere: Related ContentNot a monster clip or anything, but it’s just interesting to see Kanye talk about who he listened to for musical inspiration. Kanye likes Feist? Color me not surprised.
Thanks to Tom for the pointer.

I love how the beat & the hook makes Sour Diesel sound like some candy bubblegum. Interview with Dame coming REAAAAL soon.
Sphere: Related ContentMobb Deep’s Havoc never came off as the solo type, but you’d always figure that if he ever decided to go that route, he could probably drop something dope. Enter The Kush, which is set for release on the post-Kanye-50-hangover date of September 18th on Nature Sounds.
Hav’s lead video has made the rounds on the internet thus far, so we might be on the late train here… but (as far as I can tell) no one has yet pointed out fellow Nature Sounds-signee R.A. The Rugged Man’s cameo appearance as the stereotypical angry white cop at the end. We’ll claim first FIRST!!!1 props for that.

Collect ’em all!
(… the songs and/or the gold-painted women. Your call.)
