Here’s the trailer for the Coen brothers’ newest movie, A Serious Man. Even though I didn’t like Burn After Reading and I didn’t like No Country for Old Men as much as everyone else did, I’m still riding with the Coen brothers off the strength of The Big Lebowski. A Serious Man is a dark comedy in the same vein as Burn After Reading about a physics professor whose personal and professional problems are driving him crazy. Trailer’s dope, anyway.
I just saw a Mr. Mecca video that paid tribute to the vid for “Flava In Ya Ear (Remix)”. Then I remembered this Rappers I Know video with the same concept. I thought it’d be interesting to put these tribute videos side by side with the original. I’m keeping tabs on the featured rappers, hot chicks and rapper cameos in each video.
Rapper cameos: Emilio Rojas, Esso, Iron Solomon, Poison Pen, Donny Goines, Nina B, Pack FM, Grafh, Sic Osyrus (I didn’t recognize a lot of these cats right away, to be perfectly honest).
Hip-hop to me, is not rap. Rap anyone can get on the mic…It’s the way we talk, the way we dress…Hip-hop is a feeling. People can feel if a brother is just rapping or if he’s down with hip-hop.
A.G. is still a dope emcee; here’s a great recent spot off Detroit producer Dabrye’s album Two/Three. A.G. spits his autobiography over a minimalist guitar loop.
Long story short, Keri Hilson stood up Mr. Chi-City. Having endured the same kind of bullshit from managers/PR people, I can sympathize with Chi-City. Not only did her people beg him for an interview and then cancel last minute, but she made him buy ten of her CDs for a giveaway and never reimbursed him. In light of Ms. Hilson’s actions, ML will hereby cease all Keri Hilson coverage until she makes amends with Mr. Chi-City. Chi-City also reveals himself to be a very talented painter and creatively tells off the dick-riders.
Check out Chi-City’s previous video after the jump.
I’ve been digging this song since it dropped. This video looks like Wes Anderson directed it; big colorful panoramic shots. Perhaps a little too tame for a song about oral sex? Better/worse than the “Day ‘n’ Nite” video?
