Catching up on my Mad Decent readings, gems were to be had as always.
First off, Diplo hooked up with the object every rappers jocking- M.I.A. and Switch to step in for one of Gilles Peterson’s shows on BBC1. Check the tracklisting and grab it now here.
Also you may recall seeing MSTRKFT’s remix of John Legend’s Greenlight. Diplo got his hands on the track and takes it to another level.
Also check Mad Decent’s rework of an Of Montreal track, who I’m not really a big fan of, unlike this track.
Some other stuff of note,
This Smalltown Djs mix done for Discobelle (click for track by track breakdown), is absolutley nuts. I just listened it today and I’m already on my 3rd loop.

D.O.E. (formerly known as John Doe) who was on a few cuts on Timbo’s last album and is signed to the Mosley Music Group put out a mixtape with an unnecessarily long title, Timbaland Presents: The Fall of John Doe-1. The Rise of D.O.E . This is supposedly leading up to D.O.E.’s debut album. I’ve yet to listen, but you don’t have to wait for me. Get it at his website.

Q-Tip will be performing stuff off his new solo album The Renaissance on Monday… FO’ FREE! Text QTIP to 66937 (don’t you hate those annoying ringtone ads?) and you’re in unless it’s full already. I caught The Abstract’s solo set at Rock the Bells and he tore shit up. Not to be missed unless you have class the next morning like me. Check the details here.

In the 4 part series he talks to Charles about his deal, other artists, his background, his music making, shit pretty much everything. Plus catch up other Jabari features you may have missed after the jump.

According to Amazon (not that they are always saying the truth, but still). Looks like this one is headed back to the drawing board (or the shelf?)?

I’m so glad people are catching on to how great Nardwuar is. He makes me proud to be Canadian. If you’ve never watched/heard Nardwuar do his thing, you’re in for a treat.

I actually haven’t heard this yet since my internet is fucked with a tiny download capacity, but trust if it’s Illmind, then it’s dope. Great selection of recent Illmind produced tracks. I’m impressed by the way he and Jake One balance the mainstream with the underground. An example to follow, to be sure. Oh, and Illmind has a blog, but you already knew that.
