DJ 31 Degreez & Nas – El Dorado Black Project.

Author: KNOBBZXL // Category: Hip-Hop, Mixtape

An unofficial mixtape of mostly new leftovers from Nas’ last album. While it’s understandable why most of these songs were left off the album (they would have been out of place or they just suck), the tape has a lot of quality tracks. “Livin’ It” and “Something Foul” have a jazzy sound which has been sorely lacking from the last few Nas albums. The DJ Green Lantern-produced “Fear of the Mandingo” is more incendiary than anything on the album and the Kanye-produced love song “Mean The World To Me” is a nice change of pace, though it sounds unfinished.

There are untagged versions of a few of these tracks out there already, but the mixtape is still worth a listen for the new stuff. Be aware that the DJ’s tags are computer-smashingly annoying.

  1. Why is it that mixtape DJs usually have no idea how to tag music? Have they no shame?

  2. that kanYe produced track is noice.. man i would have had a tough time picking between that and “Still Dreaming”
