Kid Cudi’s drum-less, sluggish “Mr. Solo Dolo” takes a few listens to fully digest. Cudi threw a monkey wrench at our expectations with this one. If “Mr. Solo Dolo” is any indication, Man on the Moon: The End of Day will not be a standard pop rap album. There’s a lot more to be said about this track, but I’m still too dazed by it.
And it pisses me off that I can’t figure out the sample, or even where I’ve heard it before.
yeah seriously where have i heard this sample before? anyone?
According to Cudi, this is an unfinished version, live instruments ie strings to be added!
The sample is from “Traitor” by the Menahan Street Band. Album is “Make the Road by Walking,” same one that yielded “Roc Boys” via the title track.
cool thanks. i know i heard it before
this song reminds me of the siamese cat song from lady and the tramp
