Travis Barker & Bun B Remix Slaughterhouse’s “The One”, Video.

Travis Barker has yet to disappoint us with a rework of a song, and this song is no exception. AND he gets Bun B to add a verse? This video is definitely winning..late pass face smash.

Mayer Hawthorne – Green Eyed Love, Video.

Pause at 1:44 for a great close-up of a sweaty, pasty white, Peter-Parker-looking Mayer Hawthorne.

This is a great example of a video that takes a song to the next level. The video reveals Hawthorne’s ‘green-eyed love’ to be absinthe and the latter three quarters show him hallucinating, which relays his goofiness in a way that the song does not.

Not that his previous videos haven’t done that already.

Baby The Birdman shows off his Jewelry for Westwood, Video.

Skip to 8:40. Then watch Baby show off what is probably the biggest traveling collection of jewelry in rap (curated by Young Moola baby). Instead of a weed carrier like a lot of rappers, Baby has a jewels carrier. But why does he store what seems to be nearly a million worth of watches in a ziploc baggie? They do make watch cases, right?

Timbaland’s Beaterator, Impressions.

Rockstar has shown time and time again that it has good taste in music. DJ Premier and DJ Green Lantern hosted two of GTA4’s radio stations; Oh No, MF Doom and Ghostface did the title track for Chinatown Wars; and Statik Selektah did the soundtrack for The Lost and Damned as well as a banger for Midnight Club: L.A.

So their collaboration with Timbaland on a music game should come as no surprise. Beaterator, which came out last week, is Rockstar’s first big foray into the music genre.

Rockstar is quick to point out that Beaterator isn’t a game in the traditional sense in that it doesn’t have goals and challenges like Rock Band or Guitar Hero. With Beaterator, Rockstar aimed to create a portable, powerful, user-friendly music creation suite.

People Under the Stairs – Trippin’ At the Disco, Video.

I think People Under the Stairs just resurrected music videos. Here’s the backstory:

In March of 1980 two young rappers from los angeles appeared on the “Chikara Kurahashi Hit Station” variety show in Tokyo. It was the first time rap music had ever been performed in Asia and here is the lost tape of that performance. Enjoy this lost performance transferred from Beta – People Under The Stairs Trippin’ at the Disco.

Seriously, this might be the best music video in the last 10 years.

Thes One is a lot more into it than Double K.

Sean Price & Buckshot – The Feeling.

P and Buckshot link up over a 9th Wonder/Dan the Man thumper for the Black Dynamite soundtrack. Price kills this and those dialogue samples are a nice touch.

Black Dynamite is an affectionate tribute to classic Blaxploitation flicks that comes out later this month. Here’s the very awesome trailer.
