Floyd Mayweather has a hockey bag full of money.

I got a an email blast for some Freck Billionaire song with Red Cafe. What I got was 10 minutes of Floyd Mayweather talking about his hockey bag full of money, and Freck’s Gucci bag with 60k.. and how he and his crew are going to take over the world. If it was me? I’d just show an atm deposit slip on that with my millions.. since its printed on thermal paper, you know if it isn’t faded, its the truth!

Me and Nardwuar.

Hey, I forgot to mention this happened:

I went to see Nardwuar’s band, the Evaporators, earlier this month and I got a chance to meet the man. Nardwuar is very friendly and a seriously cool guy.

It’s a bit late for a full review but I will tell you two things about the show.

1) The show was fucking awesome.

2) Nardwuar dressed as Canadian superhero Guardian on stage. (for people who don’t know who that is and are too lazy to click the link: he wore a skintight latex suit with the Canadian flag branded on it while on stage.

If you want to know what it looks like…

Bonus: Nardwuar interviews Flava Flav:

MC Palin.

This is probably the first and only mention Palin gets on ML, she doesn’t even need to be there really. Amy Pohler made the whole skit with her Cypress Hill imitation. Moose are shook regardless.

Remix Tuesdays: Diamond D Pt.2.

I couldn’t think of a more appropriate song to cover for my return to writing Remix Tuesdays than Diamond D’s 1997 comeback single, “The Hiatus”. It’s been almost a month, folks. Not quite weekly, I know. Shouts to DJ01 for doing his own remix feature.

First, let’s start with the video:

Diamond’s beat centers around stately horns and a mix of light hi-hats and thick kick drums. The chorus consists of a sung “la la la”s from both male and female singers (cue Diamond shouting “Ladies!”) and a scratched hook:

There’s a new hombre in town/it’s Diamond D

Diamond remixed “The Hiatus” for the CD single (pictured above is promo 12′). The beat employs some gorgeous, gorgeous strings, probably one of the dopest string loops ever*.It’s a simple loop of David Axelrod’s “The School Boy” but that doesn’t change how nice it sounds. The remix starts with just strings, and some quiet singing. The “La la la” chorus is resung to the tune of the new instrumental, and there’s more scratching on the chorus. Diamond spits a new, hilarious verse, and Chaddeo and Yogi of CRU come in for guest verses. The drums are a bit harder on the remix, replacing the hi-hats with hard snares. Instant head nod, period – this is what a remix should be.

Let me leave you with my favorite Diamond couplet:

Recline with dimes who blow me and breeze/while your broke ass is home eating baloney and cheese

Diamond D – The Hiatus (Remix ft.CRU)

BONUS BEATS: Shouts to The Meaning Of Dope, who did a nice feature on their favorite remixes a while back. Worth checking for Diamond’s remix of Outkast’s “Southernplayalisticadillacmusik”, which I’d never heard before.

Ace also did a nice comp of his 13 favorite Diamond tracks. Lots of shit I’ve never heard here.

*”Boom” and “Worldwide” probably have this locked.

[EDIT: I misquoted the chorus, esteeminatti from BronxRap corrected me. Thanks!] Sphere: Related Content

Styles P Live, Video.

If Yom Kippur messed up your chances of seeing the Ghost last week, watch the live footage to see what you missed.

(Grafh, Blitz, A-Pinks, and Donny Goines also performed).

Thanks to K-Salaam.

The Real’s Fall Out Day.

The Real is major this time around with a cameo spot from Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy and someone else you may recognize (we don’t spoil around here). Shout out to that Timex clock too, I have one at home.

Nate Dogg likes Golf (clubs).

I love vintage Death Row stuff like this, I guess this from a Beef video (I don’t remember seeing it though). Method Man & Redman are trying to do an interview on the set of a Death Row video at some country club. In the background a brawl breaks out with B.G. Knocc Out/Dresta and Nate Dogg, who shows how you bat with a golf club. Spot the girls running, check the Meth commentary, and for extra credit spot Coolio.

Here is what BG said about the incident:

(ILLHILL.com)
We heard many stories about what happened at the golf club
from both sides but never from you, can you tell us exactly
what happened?

(BG Knocc Out)
The golf club incident was an unfortunate one. Not just
because of the fight but because someones project was
interrupted and my main man Russell Simons lost money
due to the incident. I regret that mostly.
But Nate Dogg actually started the whole thing.
Nate was riding in one of those golf carts with Coolio
and ran over my foot. So when he stopped I confronted
him about it. Dre’sta seen us arguing so came over to fight
Nate. All of Nates homies ran over there to back him so my
brother tried to hit Nate but didn’t connect,
Nate swung back but missed also, That’s when I hit Nate in
the jaw and he fell to the ground. I felt someone behind me
and it was one of the twins from Warren G’s camp.
I turned around and locked up with one of them so they
all started running off the course. Nate came back with a
golf club and hit my brother so I grabbed one and chased
Nate across the course. I haven’t seen the DVD yet so I’m
not sure whats recorded and what has been edited out.

Bonus:

DPG & Snoop freestylin with Nate Dogg singing (almost effortlessly) and Dre on the keys.
