His album can be one of the best this year, if his stuff sounds more like his freestyles and not some compromised radio friendly shit, even if it isn’t I’m feeling his mixtape cuts. I saw him on ‘Sucker Free’ talking about how some cop-related track had to be scrapped but he hinted at it probably coming out on mixtapes. I don’t know if that’s a good sign for the album or not. It could mean a lot of his stuff is in that grimy direction or it could mean it’s more of ‘Shorty Wanna Ride’ type direction. Apologizes to 3 Six (Grammy, MTV show and all) & et. all but Buck is the best from Ten-a-key (maybe the south?).
anyway check these two out:
Young Buck-Daydream.
Young Buck-It Is What It Is.

I know this is cliche, but it feels like no way it has been 10 years. R.I.P.

I caught this very interesting interview via spinemagazine, if you truly breathe this hip-hop shit then its a must read, I agree with most of the things he mentions. Plus he is MoCo born & raised!
here is a sample:
I don’t think VH1 is the place where hip hop goes to die. But sadly, the reason why I fucking hate hip hop and why it sucks pelican balls is: why is it that the fucking Rolling Stones–those motherfuckers old enough to be your grandfathers–they’re fucking rich and can continue to tour? I’m not saying that the Rolling Stones are going to have some shit hotter than Fallout Boy, but they can still record and they can still make a nice living for themselves. OK, Ice T is on VH1. Is he dying or is he actually living? Is he actually able to have an impact on the culture or at least catch a check? Should we be mad at VH1 because they’re actually giving people who laid the foundation for a lot of shit a fucking check when so-called black networks won’t give them a fucking shot while focusing on the new hot shit? You’ll listen to radio stations and they’ll be like Notorious BIG, old school, 1994. How is ’94 old school? So what is Chuck Berry; is that like fuckin’ the Aztecs? How is that Old school?
out.

I just watched a commercial for Def Jam: Icon. Why the hell is We Fly High the song for the ad? And why the fuck is Jim Jones in the game as a playable character? Is this a new policy where Def Jam openly promotes artists who threaten their executive staff? Or is the Jim Jones character gonna be a scrawny bitch with a bunch of stupid catchphrases? If thats the case, all they have to do is physically tone down dude and have him repeat some of the classic Hot 97 quotes.
…… I wonder if his signature move is the Kufi Smack.

Has anyone been shocked with the recent number of free Hip-Hop releases? It would seem that Indie Hip-Hoppers have just decided that selling out to a culture that makes singles like This is Why I’m Hot a national hit is not worth it anymore. And I tend to agree. After all, is it worth it to try and sway a kid who honestly thinks Lil Wayne is the greatest lyricist of all time? Or Someone who calls into his radio station to request Make it Rain everyday but has never heard Glamour Life, never heard J.O.S.E.? Are these Hip-Hop fans? Is this all they know, or have they lost their way? I had a dude walk up to me yesterday and try to argue that Cam’ron’s Purple Haze was a better album than Illmatic. Is he wrong? Or do I just not understand the intricacy in a line like “I get computers puting”?
Thank God [adultswim] keeps bringing that fire. They dropped a new free joint. Its called Definitive Swim. Its like Chrome Children except with Def Jux artists. Its real hot. Real Hot. Cop it.
If you feel like not putting your hard earned dollars into the pipe for one day then cop that new El-P album when it drops. Could be a giant?
Get some good hip-hop in you, and turn off the damn radio. You’ve had your fill of crap. We all have.
P.S. Fuck the Bouncer at Sonar! You know who you are! DC clubs run your bitch ass anyway!
