If you haven’t already, now would be a good time to stop sleeping on K. Sparks. This week’s track is laced by Moe Productions. Says the man,
This record is real laid back on some jazz/Hip Hop fusion tip…It covers various topics from police brutality to me dealin with my own personal inner demons…Moe Productions did the beat, and it’s real captivating…Nostalgic will be a song that is put on The Blue Tape…I plan on droppin that project along with The Red Tape within the same time frame…The Blue Tape will consist of various laid back jazz/Hip Hop fusion songs produced mainly by Moe Productions…I’ll make sure ya’ll get that as well when it drops.
Sounds like K Dot grabs every hot producer no one’s ever heard of and makes a whole mixtape with him.

Looks like my complaining paid off! Here’s a DJ Ophax-produced free from K. Sparks where he gives a shout out to everyone’s favorite hip-hop blog, Metal Lungies (at about 2:24 mark). You can ignore all the rest of the sites he mentions. Major props to K. Sparks!
I love vintage Death Row stuff like this, I guess this from a Beef video (I don’t remember seeing it though). Method Man & Redman are trying to do an interview on the set of a Death Row video at some country club. In the background a brawl breaks out with B.G. Knocc Out/Dresta and Nate Dogg, who shows how you bat with a golf club. Spot the girls running, check the Meth commentary, and for extra credit spot Coolio.
(ILLHILL.com)
We heard many stories about what happened at the golf club
from both sides but never from you, can you tell us exactly
what happened?
(BG Knocc Out)
The golf club incident was an unfortunate one. Not just
because of the fight but because someones project was
interrupted and my main man Russell Simons lost money
due to the incident. I regret that mostly.
But Nate Dogg actually started the whole thing.
Nate was riding in one of those golf carts with Coolio
and ran over my foot. So when he stopped I confronted
him about it. Dre’sta seen us arguing so came over to fight
Nate. All of Nates homies ran over there to back him so my
brother tried to hit Nate but didn’t connect,
Nate swung back but missed also, That’s when I hit Nate in
the jaw and he fell to the ground. I felt someone behind me
and it was one of the twins from Warren G’s camp.
I turned around and locked up with one of them so they
all started running off the course. Nate came back with a
golf club and hit my brother so I grabbed one and chased
Nate across the course. I haven’t seen the DVD yet so I’m
not sure whats recorded and what has been edited out.
Bonus:
DPG & Snoop freestylin with Nate Dogg singing (almost effortlessly) and Dre on the keys.
So, DJ Kay Slay is living up to his Drama King moniker tonight.
He just dropped a Uncle Murda/Jay-Z track going at Fat Joe & DJ Khaled (who gets one bar- “Your off-beat DJ”, wasn’t Jay-Z just talking to him a few days ago??).
Here is a radio rip with a side of Kay Slay yelling up a storm.
Edit: Just Blaze has the origin of the track; Jay-Z verse is from Blueprint 2 era, someone was bored. Sadat X also did the hook.
Sidenote: According to a few people there was a solid Cam’ron song that Kay also dropped, we’ll keep you posted..hopefully. Annnnnnd I was supposed to post this about 45 minutes earlier but my “wonderful” Time Warner cable went down, how convenient.
Check this month’s The Source (with Young Jeezy on the cover) to find Philly duo Hustle Simmons‘ “Everybody” as the featured “Hot Track” in The Record Report — if you don’t want to take The Source’s word for it that this track is hot, take mine. Their album, Dave Ghetto and Tha S Ence are Hustle Simmons, is available worldwide.
The homeboy Sammy hit me off with some news on Halfway House, Joe Budden’s appetizer to next year’s long-awaited Padded Room. It’s due out on October 28th — I’m used to saying “in stores” when albums are due out, but this one is only being released digitally through Amalgam Digital. Along with the first single “Touch & Go”, the album will feature a track called “Slaughter House” featuring Nino Bless and “three of the hardest-hitting lyricists out now” (again, Sammy’s words, not mine).
“Slaughter House” should be leaking soon, but, in the mean time, here’s the excellent “Times Are Hard” from earlier this year — an example of what Nino and Joey can do together.
This was off Nino’s mixtape, Untold Scriptures (download it here), which also features Kool G Rap, Joell Ortiz, Styles P, Saigon, Crooked I and Grafh. Untold Scriptures, Vol. 2 should be ready by the end of the year as well.
