RZA – Whar (feat. Kool G Rap, Ghostface Killah & Tash Mahogany).

There’s nothing quite like listening to Ghostface tear apart a RZA beat. The Afro Samurai Resurrection soundtrack is out January 27th.

Jojo Pellegrino – Grab His Bottle.

Via Xclusives Zone

Over the beat for Eminem’s “Crack A Bottle”. We posted about JoJo a while back and it’s been a minute since I’ve heard anything by him. This kid is a beast, insanely talented and really deserves a fucking deal.

Jojo Pellegrino – Grab His Bottle

Here’s a great video by JoJo from a year ago, with a cameo by Maino for some reason. The second track is dope.

There’s some more recent tracks on his MySpace.

DJ 31 Degreez & Nas – El Dorado Black Project.

An unofficial mixtape of mostly new leftovers from Nas’ last album. While it’s understandable why most of these songs were left off the album (they would have been out of place or they just suck), the tape has a lot of quality tracks. “Livin’ It” and “Something Foul” have a jazzy sound which has been sorely lacking from the last few Nas albums. The DJ Green Lantern-produced “Fear of the Mandingo” is more incendiary than anything on the album and the Kanye-produced love song “Mean The World To Me” is a nice change of pace, though it sounds unfinished.

There are untagged versions of a few of these tracks out there already, but the mixtape is still worth a listen for the new stuff. Be aware that the DJ’s tags are computer-smashingly annoying.

RZA Wants to Record the Next Wu-Tang Album Naked.

And he wants everyone else to be naked too:

So far we haven’t recorded anything, but conversations have been coming up though. That’s pretty interesting to hear the conversations come up about maybe us going in and doing one more fuckin’ killer album, but this time just have everybody take they shirt off—even me, take my shirt off from the door. So instead of coming in with your ideas and this and that, everybody just come in naked and build it from there. I think that’s something that we never actually ever did. Usually I had all the ideas or something or some brothers had predetermined ideas, but I think now, it’s like everybody in the crew is a master at what they do. And so we all got to accept that, even me, that as the Abbot I gotta accept that. If we take that approach, I’m pretty sure we would come with something very, very unique. I don’t know if that’s gonna happen, but there are conversations.

OK, RZA doesn’t actually want to get naked with Raekwon and U-God, but it was still a shock to read “but this time just have everybody take they shirt off.” Maybe I’m being naive, but I think the Wu is still capable of putting together a great album. 8 Diagrams didn’t live up to the hype, but it definitely had its moments.

Clinton Sparks Presents Tyga – The Free Album.

Interesting mixtape, the thing with Tyga is his flow is all over the place from his stop & go to his imitation young Snoop flow on Sippin Coconut Juice. But, I can’t fault his beat selection, I can listen to the Put It On Me beat for days (like you hardcore ML readers may recall). Worth a listen just for tracks with titles like Swagger Like Wentz (guess what beat?!?).

Tracklisting:

1. The Free Album
2. Supermodel Baby Featuring Gata
3. What Them Girl Like (Freestyle)
4. Swagger Like Wentz

7. Sippn Coconut Juice

50 Cent – Shut Ur Bloodclot Mouth (Produced by DJ Premier).

Nice to see 50 doing something Jay-Z/Nas can’t seem to pull off. Based on what Premier said a month back, I wonder who approached who? Check the ad-lib growls throughout.

Edit: Uhoh.. Statik Says:

FYI that 50 / Premo shit that dropped today aint real 🙁

As a bonus, I also caught this amusing interview on a Conan re-run back from September from when 50 was promoting his Pacino/DeNiro movie, Righteous Kill. Hate or love his music, dude is definitely an interesting interview with a personality.

Santogold Ft. Three 6 Mafia & Project Pat – Shove It (Remix).

I haven’t posted some Three 6 in ages (or any Santogold), but I had to post their remix of Santi’s Shove It (Which Jay-Z sampled for Brooklyn (Go Hard)), it’s definitely loop play status. Thanks to SmokeYYY for posting up some of their best work in a minute.

Joe Budden featuring Slaughterhouse (1/22/09) @ S.O.B.’s, NYC.

With the Knitting Factory closed, S.O.B.’s is the main spot for smaller shows in New York. Joe Budden is bringing along his supergroup of Royce Da 5’9, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and himself; Slaughterhouse. While I haven’t been crazy about any of the slaughterhouse tracks thus far, it’s sure to be a memorable show with so many big names on the bill.

Buy tickets here and if you’re not in NYC, there’s going to be a live webcast here.
