I’ve been neglecting Remix Tuesdays as of late, so allow me to share this dope remix with you: a crazy 8-bit remix of Finale’s stellar “One Man Show”. This is what you could have received if you beat Super Finale. Of course, a Casual guest spot is always welcome. His voice and flow plays off Finale’s nicely – I think I might actually like this more than the original. We’ve been on a videogame kick lately, huh? Dunno how that happened.
Here’s a great Casual throwback that’s perfect for the summer.
A Pipe Dream And A Promise is in stores now. Cop that.
Bonus Beats: Check out a nice mix of recent Finale tracks at Fresh Selects.

Marco Polo decided to forgo the formalities and give ML a private listening session for Double Barrel. And by ‘listening session,’ I mean I went to Marco’s house and he played me the album, which is almost finished. We sat down in a dirty little room smaller than my dorm and Marco blasted the hardest boom bap shit I’ve heard in years. Double Barrel is full of gunshots and sirens.
Marco’s production is more cohesive and focused than it was on Port Authority and Torae raps with a newfound aggression. Together, they deliver an album that’s sure to please fans of traditional New York rap. “This is for the heads,” Marco noted afterward.
1. Intro ft. DJ Premier
A screaming cosign from Premo over some “guitar/horn madness” as Marco put it.
2. “Double Barrel” ft. cuts by DJ Revolution
The track starts with a gunshot and doesn’t let up. DJ Revolution scratches the shit out of the hook.
3. “Smoke” ft. Lil Fame of M.O.P.
Very sinister beat. Think “Speak Softly” off Port Authority but more belligerent. To give you an idea of Tor’s energy level, he and Fame sound the same.
4. “Party Crashers”
The closest thing to a party track on the album. This song walks the line between party joint and boom bap banger.
5. “But Wait”
6. “Lifetime” ft. cuts by DJ Revolution
Revolution goes nuts with the scratches once again. Makes me wish he did the scratches on every song.

Between this and the Cassie track I had the audacity to post, ML is heading in a dangerous direction. Don’t worry, I’ll smack you with some boom bap goodness in a minute.
Sphere: Related ContentSince you read our interview with Mr. Bentley, you might have been keeping up with the show, it wraps up tonight. I have caught a few episodes this season, and it’s definitely one of those reality shows you can watch on whim. Set your phone alerts, the finale airs tonight at 10pm EST on MTV.

I like the cover, don’t get me wrong, but I kinda wish it was this. Regardless I’m excited for this. Guest list is promising too: Guilty Simpson, Masta Ace, Sean P, Fame AND Premo? Damn.
Plus: Another installment of Double Barrel Tuesdays, this time Tor goes over Marco’s beat for Heltah Skeltah “Insane”.
I got an e-mail from dailymotion.com of all places which had this as a “must-see video” and naturally as I’m a big Eminem fan, I checked it out. I still don’t really understand this new weird accent he’s been rapping with, but the lyrics and video are great. Check it:

I can relate and laugh at this. This also got me thinking, there needs to be more hip hop related photoshop stuff NOW. LL as Honus Wagner *DEAD*.
Somehow we’ve slipped on The Real yet again (forgive us father!), so check out the previous gems in case you may have missed them after the break.
Sphere: Related ContentYou know what ML and Jim Jones share in common? When we twitter, we both smile like little kids on Christmas (even when jail is involved, it takes a lot more to turn the ol’ smile upside down). After watching this news clip, we are almost tempted to start following Jim Jones, but keeping up with the stuff we already follow is a full time job as it is, but if @iamdiddy turns out to be a fake or something, you’re next Jim! By the way, that reporter would make for a nice cameo in a upcoming Jim Jones video.
More hip hop twitter related shit coming soon.. perhaps even tomorrow.
