Sacramento’s Lee Bannon is quickly becoming a good source of creative sampling. Can’t say I’ve ever paid Willie the Kid much attention, but he spits some solid brag rap on here. Very noir. Off Willie The Kid’s upcoming mixtape, The Fly.

Rapper/producer Will C. (who looks like Bret from Flight of the Conchords) hands us “Synthetic Genetics,” a barrage of fast pace rapping over a volatile beat. The song borders on too nerdy for my taste, but holds up on the strength of the production. Off Will C.’s debut album Evil in the Mirror.
They talk about crushing on Pam Grier and Snoop’s entry into acting. She also forces Tony to drink a nasty looking drink called an Obama. Snoop has an AMAZING laugh.
Cosigned off the strength of the video game references alone. How Fly > This Ain’t No Mixtape. Great summer listening. Pop open a box of ice cream sandwiches and enjoy.
This is some gorgeous throwback soul perfect for your next BBQ. Video is on point too; ladies love cool Mayer. A Strange Arrangement drops in September.
This song is actually a cover of a song by Detroit group New Holidays. O-Dub at Soul Sides has the scoop.
