20 Hip Hop album covers in Legos.

(Our favorite, closely followed by the Big Pun cover.. the Pigeon detail is clutch)

Must see at Format Mag. Thanks Rizoh.

Copped: Perrier Pink Grapefruit.

Copped this a few days back while roaming the new Harris Teeter back in the ol’ DMV. Immediately this has become my non-alchoholic beverage of choice. From what I gather, this has been only launched in a few select markets in the States, after selling like hot cakes tea? in France (where it is called Pamplemousse Rose, ML is sooo bilinugal). Alas, I’m already suffering from withdrawl, Buffalo is not one of the lucky select markets (contain your shock, please).

Michael Jackson dancing to R. Kelly’s – Ignition.

I was in a trans as soon as I saw this over at An Eye-Douching. I don’t know if I should laugh or dead bolt my door. Director Brett Ratner is in this too, not random at, nope not at all.

Japanese Restaurant + Monkey = Win.

Ahh I can’t help but post Japan X Animals. You know we are always behind Japan’s trends. Monkeys running around on the bar at your local Ruby Tuesday coming in 2010. I swear the people in this video are nicer to that monkey than they would ever be to me.

Diplo Banned in Libya, Florida Promo Video.

At the start of this month I saw a mesmerizing promo video for Diplo’s 2004 album Florida on Mad Decent’s blog that I never got around to posting. Despite the lateness, I highly suggest you watch it, the edit of Juveniles’s Ha makes it worth it all by itself, the rest is just icing on the cake. Oh yeah, it kinda gets NSFW too.

Hip Hop + Art: Pharrell & Kanye West Photo Portraits.

The Hip Hop + Art feature is back from hiatus! I came across these 2 dope portraits on my man Kon’s favorites on Devart. I really dig the gold standing out from the rest of the composition of the portraits.

Kanye:

Very nice bonus Barack Obama campaigning in Boston in October photo after the jump:

The Roots do Yo Gabba Gabba, House Band on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Next?

You know you are major when not only do you get a cameo, but you get to perform on a kids show. The Roots did just that appearing on the Nickelodeon show Yo Gabba Gabba.

Check the performance of Lovely, Love My Family below:

If I had kids you better believe they’d be rocking with this over the Sean Kingston X Kidz Bop.

In other pertinent Roots news, according to a few sites (and mysteriously disappearing videos), The Roots maybe going on a touring hiatus come March in order to become the house band for Jimmy Fallon’s takeover of Conan’s Late Night show. If this turns out true (all signs are pointing to it, it was even hinted to in that OKP ?uestlove Famous People thread), I need to catch The Roots one more time live before this (as do you!), because they are one of the best live acts, ever.

Joe Budden & Jim Jones shop at the same store in Harlem.

As I watched the latest installment of Joe Budden TV where he is shopping for a jacket in the Bronx Harlem (edit: sorry it was late!), the store seemed familiar. After racking my brain filled with random hip hop nonsense, I realized It is the exact same store Jim Jones shopped at & documented a few years back. Looks like Jim Jones got a better deal (not even calcualting inflation!!). Jim Jones shopping savvy> Joe Budden. Watch and compare for yourself:

Rev. Run Beatboxes to Wii Music.

I can’t tell if Run and the kids are really having fun or if they’re just damn good at pretending. Reviews of Wii Music suggest the latter. Run and fam are always entertaining though.

Sidebar: I haven’t played it yet, but I’m giving Wii Music the benefit of the doubt for now, just because Shigeru Miyamoto’s games (get to know) have changed my life four like times.
