If you are not lucky enough (like ML) to get in the building for the taping of VH1’s Hip Hop Honors, come to the official screening & after party for a good cause – VH1 Save The Music Foundation. ML will be in the building.
Somewhere in time Fatman Scoop & his wife (who is a counseler/case worker) decided to give relationship (read: sex) advice, and it has evolved into a TV show via MTV. I remember seeing the webeisode incarnation of this a long time back, with some feelings of amusement. This is like an urban version of Loveline, I bet kids in Middle School are gonna be sneaking in their viewing sessions with the volume real low. Seeing Fatman Scoop in his boxers may scar some for life.
I was sitting around the pad yesterday when I passed over PBS and noticed someone strange on Sesame St. Will Arnett, from ML praised Arrested Development, was playing the part of a bad magician. I watched the whole thing and I kept wondering what the Sesame St. producers were thinking? Will Arnett was just playing his character from Arrested Development!!! Seeing this random cameo has now inspired me to search the Sesame St. archives for other, possibly hip-hop related cameos. I never watched the show much as a kid. But I now I see what I’ve been missing.
And, for anyone thats wondering, no I don’t sit around all day by myself watching children’s programming.
2 hours a day…
Tops.
After the jump is the Will Arnett clip (Funny for me. Maybe not so funny for you.)
So, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is one of my favorite shows of all time. I was just watching FX and I saw the best commercial for their new season. I know, remakes of Going Back to Cali are kind of overdone, but they got Jeru the Damaja!!!! Fuck Colin Quinn!! This one is the best.
After the jump is the original LL version which is, without question, one of the best hip-hop videos of all time.
Plus the Colin Quinn version too. I was just kidding earlier. Colin Quinn was a fool for this.
Kanye gives back those that have served our country by giving them a surprise visit (and much more via the Dr. Donda West Foundation) with Sway and while finding out what issues they are facing. Premiers Monday July 28th @ 10 PM on MTV.
More MTV shows (The Hills interviews coming soon readers!).
I like that the trailer mentions Jamie Foxx’s Oscar win.. as if that relates to producing a reality show. This makes me miss Dylan X Ness from the legendary Making The Band II. I’ll check this out but I’d prefer some tracks leaked from C.O.L.O.U.R.S.(if they exist) first. Premiers July 15th @ 10PM.
Bonus Clip featuring one of the contestants, Creepa:
Based on a true story, the writers of The Wire (of which I have 7 episodes left to watch) David Simon & Ed Burns bring Generation Kill. Based on how epic the story lines were on The Wire, I’m sure their style of writing will transfer over nicely to this mini series. Begins July 13.
When I heard about this show I was gassed. I was thinking we would get another White Rapper Show. But in the back of my mind I knew VH1 would fuck it up. And they did. But its only a trailer you say. How can I judge?
Three Things:
1) The set (or the fembassy) is straight out of Flavor of Love.
2) The bitches in the video were fighting, scantily clad, and one admitted to a drug addiction.
3) Soulja Boy is featured quickly in the end as one of the “Rap Superstars” the bitches would encounter (in the same category as Ghostface, no less)
For all those who enjoyed the minstrelsy of Flavor of Love, I’m sure this will come as a gift. The hosts are Yo-Yo and MC Serch, and I’m sure this will be some ignorance worthy of note.
Now that I think about it, I never really liked the White Rapper Show that much anyway. And MC Serch is an asshole and a sellout for doing this, so is Yo-Yo. They both get the gasface.
I don’t really care for Sean John as a clothing line but I’m curious to see how much Diddy actually cut & sews. Does the fashion industry have the equivalent of ghostwriters, ghostdesigners? Airs tonight at 10PM EST on MTV.
