I almost fell out of bed when I saw this on sportscenter last night. It was that awesome. Jeff Xavier’s Brother on the court> male streaker. I love the announcers reaction when they though it was just some random guy, and not a players’ brother.
When you’re one of the greatest emcees of the modern generation readying your bow from hip-hop with three albums, what do you do meanwhile? In Lupe Fiasco’s case, you simply watch a film, get invigorated, start a band, begin making not so bad post-indie punk music in a faux British accent, think of a peculiar band name (cue “Japanese Cartoon”), create a MySpace page, & upload the music. Then act like it isn’t you but rather Percival Fats. Cool.
There are only two tracks so far, and I’m not sure whether I love it or hate it. Its like punk rock, but the lyrics are clearly Lupe. The British accent is pretty annoying, but you would have to know me to find out why.
Either way you should listen to it, and reflect in the comments. Maybe I’ll take your opinion because I can’t find my own.
The majority of our readership is probably scratching their heads at the title of this entry..don’t worry we are not switching over to another language on you on that babelfish tip. But if you are Russian, your life will be changed by this clip, or if you have any Russian friends- you have the power of changing their lives by simply showing them this video. I’ve never been more proud to have been born in the Ukraine.
Shit, even if you don’t speak Russian this Rick Rosschik Hustlin’ tribute is worth a screening. Credit to WOTSM.
No, its not fake. The Ying Yang Twins are doing a Christmas album. I got this via e-mail and I thought it was a joke until I heard this. The only track I heard was “Sleigh Ride”, and it might be the biggest piece of shit I have ever had to suffer through. Its all about Christmas!!!
Think about it. A Ying Yang album with a positive message, little to no cussing, and nobody talks about their penis!!! What the hell is the point?!
The best part of my day came when I read the statement that the promoter sent with the news about the Christmas album:
The Ying Yang Twins are getting into the holiday spirit with a new Christmas themed EP, The Ying and the Yang of the Holidays, out now through Deep Records. The EP finds the twins striking a Bing Crosby-esque pose and caroling listeners with medleys of traditional Christmas songs with a Ying Yang Twins twist. On “Sleigh Ride” D-Rock and Kaine drink eggnog and smoke blunts while making a Christmas wish for peace in the hood and giving President elect Barack Obama a shout out. “This Christmas” is a soulful take on a holiday classic, and “Deck Da Club” and “Carol of Da Bellz” are quintessential Ying Yang Twins.
“Sleigh Ride” and “Ballin’ on XMas” from the Jim Jones album are after the jump.
This is the trailer for the documentary on Lil Wayne coming out next year. There’s kind of a buzz about this because the director is Adam Bala Lough, who is apparently “a respected film maker in the world of music documentaries“. Also because it will be premiering at the Sundance Film Festival. The company making it is QD3, the people who put out all those Beef DVDs. I’m not one to hate, but why were the Beef DVDs never premiered at Sundance? Those films are documentaries about the real life struggles of rappers… against rappers.
But seriously though, this trailer gives off the eerie vibe that this film is supposed to be released post-mortem. In Lil Wayne’s memory and shit. That scene with him lying down at the end with those lyrics playing. Scary.
After the jump is the unrelated (I found it on Quincy Jones III’s blog) video for Two Words, one of my favorite songs from College Dropout. I didn’t even know this had a video until today. Not sure if I like the one on Chappelle show more.
I just jacked this from saw this on NahRight. Shit is hilarious.
B.O.B. imitating Wayne is one of the best things I have seen in my life.
If you ever get a chance to see B.O.B. I highly recommend dude. He’s a great performer, a talented musician, and apparently a comedian too. After the jump is a link to the mp3 of the song (also jacked from eskay), plus an old Ice Cube song from the Office Space soundtrack that I’ve had on my mind all day.
I was in a trans as soon as I saw this over at An Eye-Douching. I don’t know if I should laugh or dead bolt my door. Director Brett Ratner is in this too, not random at, nope not at all.
Ahh I can’t help but post Japan X Animals. You know we are always behind Japan’s trends. Monkeys running around on the bar at your local Ruby Tuesday coming in 2010. I swear the people in this video are nicer to that monkey than they would ever be to me.
