The End Of A Good Thing.

I just read about this on HipHopDX. It looks like Sandman has left the Re-Up Gang. Dude was basically tired of being in the side-show. I always liked Sandman’s shit. It’s just a bummer that this dude let one bad album ruin his career. I’m not saying no one is going to buy a Sandman album, but no one is going to buy a Sandman album.

Maybe I’m wrong. He could pull an Ice Cube. But, then again, Ice Cube was the most talented member of NWA. Oh Snap. I didn’t mean it like that. Keep your head up Sandman.

Maybe change that name…

After the jump is his solo video. Its actually really good.

{Plus: I haven’t posted this because of retarded internet set-up at UMBC, but there is a new season of ML Radio coming soon… and more posting from me. Since I have interweb now. New season starts next week.)

The Neptunes lost movie – Dude We’re Going To Rio.

I’ve been slowly going through and cleaning up some of the older (read: first) ML entries, the format and grammar was pretty gully in a lot of them back then.

Anyways, one of the first entries I personally did was about The Neptunes straight to dvd movie project called Dude We’re Going To Rio starring Busta Rhymes & Pharrell. Even though a cover got made, it never actually came out in stores, I was curious to see if anything new happened with the long lost film, well since then a trailer surfaced (NSFW near the end):

This seems like it could have been The Neptunes equivalent of Killa Season, with better production and more softcore.

While looking for the trailer, I found that in the recent issue of Complex (which I’ve yet to read in entirety myself) P was asked about the film.

Back when Clones came out, there was talk about you guys making a movie called Dude, We’re Going to Rio.
Pharrell: Are you trying to torture me right now?

No, I’m just curious what happened to that.
Pharrell: It was just bad. Not surrounded by the right people. Just a shitty arrangement. Those guys were nice, but I didn’t know what was appropriate. But now I’m working with Joel Silver so we’re producing something. I’m doing some television things with McG.

I’m guessing we’ll never see the thing.

Kidz Bop Steps It Up

I just saw a commercial on television for the new Kidz Bop, and they got Sean Kingston to remake “Take You There”. I jumped online as fast as I could to find that he made a whole new Kidz Bop video. If you’ve heard it, you remember the original song is an infectious dance joint that had references to the hood, kids holding guns, and other trife shit. The original video was shot in Miami and included Officer Rick Ross blowing trees, DJ Khaled, and mad video girls. The new Kidz Bop video is a bunch of little kids dancing on a beach with Sean Kingston. Plus, they altered the lyrics. Next stop… Lollipop.

The Line.

I’ve been posted up in bed sick as shit. I did only one thing today, I watched this kinda funny series of shorts I read about in the NYTimes called The Line:

Two best friends, armed with one change of clothes and one simple mission: get tickets to the world premiere of Future Space.

If you have some time to kill at work and you like all the NYC comedians (like Human Giant‘s Paul Scheer) check it out.

Rest of the series after the jump.

Best Promo Ever!!

So, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is one of my favorite shows of all time. I was just watching FX and I saw the best commercial for their new season. I know, remakes of Going Back to Cali are kind of overdone, but they got Jeru the Damaja!!!! Fuck Colin Quinn!! This one is the best.

After the jump is the original LL version which is, without question, one of the best hip-hop videos of all time.

Plus the Colin Quinn version too. I was just kidding earlier. Colin Quinn was a fool for this.
